Papillary fibroelastomas (PFEs) followed by cardiac myxomas (CM) are the 2 most common primary benign cardiac tumors. Although typically asymptomatic, they can manifest with nonspecific symptoms such as dyspnea and dizziness or more acute manifestations such as embolic events. We describe an unusual location of a PFE typically seen with a CM.

Linchpin reagents are building blocks that can be chemoselectively functionalized to afford products with a common, useful functional group. In this work, we describe the development and validation of the first amide linchpin reagent and demonstrate its use as a doubly electrophilic building block for the synthesis of a variety of amides, including challenging classes. The linchpin reagent was first functionalized via rhodium-catalyzed electrophilic amination.

Context.—: Cardiac and pulmonary allograft recipients represent a unique population, frequently interacting with support groups and exhibiting intense curiosity about their pathology. Like other solid organ transplant patients, they have enduring and frequent interaction with the laboratory for routine allograft surveillance.

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a critical global health issue and a leading cause of heart failure. Indeed, while neonatal mammals can regenerate cardiac tissue mainly through cardiomyocyte proliferation, this ability is lost shortly after birth, resulting in the adult heart's inability to regenerate after injury effectively. In adult mammals, the adverse cardiac remodelling, which compensates for the loss of cardiac cells, impairs cardiac function due to the non-contractile nature of fibrotic tissue.

We introduce FocalPose++, a neural render-and-compare method for jointly estimating the camera-object 6D pose and camera focal length given a single RGB input image depicting a known object. The contributions of this work are threefold. First, we derive a focal length update rule that extends an existing state-of-the-art render-and-compare 6D pose estimator to address the joint estimation task.
