Here, we propose the use of photoacoustically induced streaming and secondary cavitation to achieve superior cleaning efficacy in the apical region of the periodontal and peri-implant pocket. We have used a prefabricated narrow wedge system that mimics the consistency of periodontal and peri-implant pockets of both healthy and severely inflamed tissue.
