The Neurohospitalist Core Competencies comprise a set of competency-based learning objectives that encapsulate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of neurohospitalitists who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients with neurologic conditions. These competencies serve to characterize the rapidly expanding field of neurohospitalist medicine. The 27 chapters are divided into 3 sections entitled: neurological conditions, clinical interventions and interpretation of ancillary studies, and neurohospitalist role in the healthcare system.

Mutational testing for Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST) patients remains underutilized. In this retrospective analysis, the target population ( = 1556) reported: 904 had molecular testing ("Tested") vs. 652 without testing ("Untested").

Association Between Neighborhood Socioeconomic Status and 30-Day Mortality and Readmission for Patients With Common Neurologic Conditions.

Background And Objectives: Patients of low individual socioeconomic status (SES) are at a greater risk of unfavorable health outcomes. However, the association between neighborhood socioeconomic deprivation and health outcomes for patients with neurologic disorders has not been studied at the population level. Our objective was to determine the association between neighborhood socioeconomic deprivation and 30-day mortality and readmission after hospitalization for various neurologic conditions.

Barriers to mutational testing in patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) - a survey of life raft group members.

Background: Due to the low mutational testing rate in patients with Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST), The Life Raft Group (LRG), a non-profit organization that provides support, advocacy and conducts research for patients with GIST, analyzed various factors that may have an impact on patients' ability to receive mutational testing.

Methods: A survey about mutational testing for patients with GIST or their caregivers, was conducted in June 2020. The survey, sent to 1004 GIST patients and caregivers through email, was promoted through social media with instructions to contact the LRG to participate.
