Validation of a New Web-Based System for Point-of-Care Implant Documentation in Total Knee Arthroplasty.

Implant documentation in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) must be both accurate and comprehensive. A new system enables surgeons to complete a secure, web-based operative report for each surgery. This study evaluated implant documentation using this system and hypothesized that it would be as reliable as the current standard.

Background: Ponseti serial casting is the most commonly used method in North America to treat children with clubfeet. Despite initial correction, recurrence is common. tibialis anterior tendon transfer (TATT) is commonly used to treat recurrent clubfeet.

VEGF-C, VEGF-D and VEGFR-3 expression in peripheral neuroblastic tumours.

Aims: More than 50% of neuroblastomas (NBs) present with haematogenous and/or lymphatic metastasis; however, little is known about the clinicopathological significance in NBs of the key lymphangiogenesis growth factors vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-C and VEGF-D and the receptor VEGFR-3.

Methods And Results: Ninety-three NBs and nine ganglioneuromas (GNs) were immunostained for VEGF-C, VEGF-D and VEGFR-3. VEGF-C and VEGF-D were present in 76% and 82% of the NBs, respectively.

Staging and comorbidities.

Articular cartilage lesions of the distal femur and patella are common. To provide an accurate diagnosis of a clinically symptomatic cartilage lesion and subsequent appropriate planning for potential treatment options, a proper staging is required. Unlabelled: Thioredoxin domain containing protein 5 (TXNDC5) is a member of the thioredoxin (Trx) domain-containing family of proteins that have been implicated in cancer progression. The expression of TXNDC5 in non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) tumours compared to patient-matched normal lung tissue was determined and cell line models were used to determine if expression was regulated by hypoxia.

Patients And Methods: Samples of tumour and normal lung tissue were taken during surgery and immediately frozen.
