Deprescribing in hospitalized patients with cancer: A clinical pharmacist-initiated multidisciplinary intervention.

Purpose: To examine the feasibility and utility of a clinical pharmacist-led multidisciplinary deprescribing intervention in hospitalized cancer patients.

Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study among cancer patients hospitalized in oncology department who underwent a medication review by a clinical pharmacist. The pharmacist's recommendations were evaluated by a multidisciplinary team.

Advancing aquaculture: Production of xenogenic catfish by transplanting blue catfish (Ictalurus furcatus) and channel catfish (I. punctatus) stem cells into white catfish (Ameiurus catus) triploid fry.

Xenogenesis has been recognized as a prospective method for producing channel catfish, Ictalurus punctatus ♀ × blue catfish, I. furcatus ♂ hybrids. The xenogenesis procedure can be achieved by transplanting undifferentiated stem cells derived from a donor fish into a sterile recipient.

Sex Differences in Diagnosis and Treatment Timing of Comorbid Depression/Anxiety and Disease Subtypes in Patients With ADHD: A Database Study.

Objective: Our study examined the impact of sex, ADHD subtype, and comorbid illnesses (depression/anxiety) on the timing of diagnosis and treatment for ADHD.

Method: To analyze ADHD patients, four health databases were used to assess subtype, comorbid mood, and antidepressant or anxiolytic drug exposure. Analyses were stratified by sex and age.

A mechanism for hereditary angioedema caused by a methionine-379-to-lysine substitution in kininogens.

Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is associated with episodic kinin-induced swelling of the skin and mucosal membranes. Most patients with HAE have low plasma C1-inhibitor activity, leading to increased generation of the protease plasma kallikrein (PKa) and excessive release of the nanopeptide bradykinin from high-molecular-weight kininogen (HK). However, disease-causing mutations in at least 10% of patients with HAE appear to involve genes for proteins other than C1-inhibitor.

The data from two Bulgarian-German instruments with the basic name "Radiation Risk Radiometer-Dosimeter" (R3D) are discussed. The R3DR instrument worked inside the ESA EXPOSE-R facility (2009-2010), while R3DR2 worked inside the ESA EXPOSE-R2 facility (2014-2016). Both were outside the Russian Zvezda module on the International Space Station (ISS).
