Insects, especially forest pests, are frequently characterized by eruptive dynamics. These types of species can stay at low, endemic population densities for extended periods of time before erupting in large-scale outbreaks. We here present a mechanistic model of these dynamics for mountain pine beetle.

Consequently, responses to individual agents cannot be easily delineated at the single patient level, even though some patients might not require all drugs in the combination. Herein, we conduct multi-omic analyses of orthotopic TNBC patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) treated with single agent carboplatin, docetaxel, or the combination.

To date, there are no widely approved vaccines for CCHFV and treatment for disease is largely supportive. Due to this lack of intervention, the WHO lists CCHFV as a high-priority pathogen.

Despite being requisite diagnostic criteria, the neurocircuitry of these behaviors remains poorly understood, limiting treatment development. Studies in translational animal models show environmental enrichment (EE) reduces the expression of RRB, although the underlying mechanisms are largely unknown.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOpen-channel flumes are an important tool in fluid mechanics research and education. However, the few commercially available small-scale flumes are generally expensive and lack complete characterization. In this work, we present an open-source, low-cost, modular benchtop laboratory flume that is designed to be accessible and reproducible.
