: NIPT is a widely implemented method for prenatal screening of chromosomal disorders. Its introduction initiated the practice of counseling women pre- and post-analytically. Since the test's usage is established in different conditions, comparing data from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds would be of scientific value.

Glycosylated sphingolipids (GSLs) are a diverse group of cellular lipids typically reported as being rare in normal mammary tissue. In breast cancer (BCa), GSLs have emerged as noteworthy markers associated with breast cancer stem cells, mediators of phenotypic plasticity, and contributors to cancer cell chemoresistance. GSLs are potential surface markers that can uniquely characterize the heterogeneity of the tumor microenvironment, including cancer cell subpopulations and epithelial-mesenchymal plasticity (EMP).

The Effect of Gastrointestinal Graft-Versus-Host Disease and Diarrhea on the Pharmacokinetic Profile of Sotrovimab in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Recipients.

Background: Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are utilized broadly to treat cancer and infectious diseases, and mAb exposure (serum concentration over time) is one predictor of overall treatment efficacy. Herein, we present findings from a clinical trial evaluating the pharmacokinetics of the long-acting mAb sotrovimab targeting severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 in hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) recipients.

Methods: All participants received an intravenous infusion of sotrovimab within 1 week prior to initiating the pretransplant preparative regimen.

Advanced medical technologies are transforming the future of healthcare, in particular, the screening and detection of molecular-genetic changes in patients suspected of having a neoplasm. They are based on the assumption that neoplasms release small amounts  of  various  neoplasm-specific molecules, such as tumor DNA, called circulating DNA (cirDNA), into the extracellular space and subsequently into the blood. The detection of tumor-specific molecules and specific molecular changes in body fluids in a noninvasive or minimally invasive approach is known as "liquid biopsy.

Initial Effect of Recombinant Human Growth Hormone Treatment in a Patient with Löwe Syndrome.

Objectives: Löwe syndrome (the oculocerebrorenal syndrome of Löwe, OCRL, OMIM #309000, ORPHA: 534) is a very rare multisystem X-linked disorder characterized by ocular, kidney and nervous system anomalies.

Case Presentation: We present the first Bulgarian genetically confirmed patient with OCRL. The patient had facial dysmorphism, cryptorchidism, congenital cataracts, nystagmus, delayed physical and mental development, and poor nutritional status.
