Facilitators' experiences with virtual simulation and their impact on learning.

Background: Increasingly, virtual simulations are being integrated into higher education. A successful experience goes far beyond simply offering learners access to a virtual simulation; it requires a facilitator who understands the learners' needs and course objectives, choses the right virtual simulation for the learner, creates a welcoming space that promotes learning, and evaluates the experience.

Methods: Facilitators from three different healthcare programs and six educational institutions and students from two different healthcare programs were included in this exploratory qualitative research study.

Transition to Practice: Perceptions of Newly Graduated Nurses in Relation to the Participation of Nurse Managers in a Transition Program.

Throughout existing transition programs for new nurses, few appear to include the participation of nurse managers in its activities. This qualitative study explores the perceptions of newly graduated nurses ( N = 7) toward the participation of their nurse manager in a transition program through dedicated group discussion periods. Four interconnected themes emerged from the interviews.

Exploring Police Officer Experiences During the Transfer of People in Crisis to Emergency Department Nurses and Staff.

Police officers are increasingly tasked with responding to people in crisis (PIC), often resulting in transfers to emergency departments (EDs) where they can encounter challenges like long wait times, safety concerns, and conflicting perspectives between the medical and legal systems. This qualitative study explores the experiences of police officers during the transfer of PIC to ED nurses and staff. Eleven police officers were recruited and interviewed, providing contextual information about ED transfers in the greater Montreal area.

Background: Development of nursing leadership is necessary to ensure that nurse leaders of the future are well-equipped to tackle the challenges of a burdened healthcare system. In this context, the Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare Leadership program was delivered to 121 participants from 5 organizations in Canada in 2021 and 2022. To date, no study used a qualitative approach to explore nursing leaders' perceptions of a leadership Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare Leadership program three months post training.
