Reduction of cone-beam CT artifacts in a robotic CBCT device using saddle trajectories with integrated infrared tracking.

Background: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is widely used in many medical fields. However, conventional CBCT circular scans suffer from cone beam (CB) artifacts that limit the quality and reliability of the reconstructed images due to incomplete data.

Purpose: Saddle trajectories in theory might be able to improve the CBCT image quality by providing a larger region with complete data.

Knowledge brokering in public health: A critical analysis of the results of a qualitative evaluation.

Empirical data on the processes underlying knowledge brokering (KB) interventions, including their determining factors and effects, remain scarce. Furthermore, these interventions are rarely built on explicit theoretical foundations, making their critical analysis difficult, even a posteriori. For these reasons, it appeared relevant to revisit the results of a qualitative evaluation undertaken in the province of Quebec in parallel with a Canada-wide randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluating various KB strategies in public health.

[Training in knowledge translation from the view of the learner].

Current training in knowledge translation (KT) in the field of population health is mainly carried out in an academic context. However, Quebec health and social services KT managers, as well as population health researchers express a need for developing KT practical learning in a workplace context. We argue that, in line with professional development and a constructivist approach to pedagogy, KT training should include practice-based learning in addition to academic education.

Knowledge translation research in population health: establishing a collaborative research agenda.

Background: Despite the increasing mobilization of researchers and funding organizations around knowledge translation (KT) in Canada and elsewhere, many questions have been only partially answered, particularly in the field of population health. This article presents the results of a systematic process to draw out possible avenues of collaboration for researchers, practitioners and decision-makers who work in the area of KT.
