A qualitative exploration of women's expectations of birth and knowledge of birth interventions following antenatal education.

Background: Expectations of birth, and whether they are met, influence postnatal psychological wellbeing. Intrapartum interventions, for example induction of labour, are increasing due to a changing pregnant population and evolving evidence, which may contribute to a mismatch between expectations and birth experience. NICE recommends antenatal education (ANE) to prepare women for labour and birth, but there is no mandated UK National Health Service (NHS) ANE curriculum.

Obturator Neurectomy for the Treatment of Adductor Spasticity: A Novel Technique and Case Series.

Background The management of adductor spasticity and long-term sequelae for cerebral palsy (CP) patients is complex. Hip displacement is a common consequence of CP, and obturator neurectomy (ON) is a potentially underutilized procedure to address the underlying adductor spasticity. The aim of this study is to describe the operational technique of ON and highlight the potential efficacy of ON in reducing spasticity, as well as pain, hip, and functional outcomes in these patients.

Optimising the Nursing Scope of Practice in a Homeless Health Service: A Qualitative Descriptive Study.

Aim: To explore specialist homeless health professionals' perceptions of gaps in homeless health care and understand whether these might be addressed through existing nursing scopes of practice.

Design: Qualitative descriptive study.

Methods: Semi-structured interviews and focus groups with a purposive sample of 22 staff in nursing (11) and non-nursing (11) roles, engaged with a Homeless Health Service.

Transitions-Related Support for Ageing Family Carers of Older People With Intellectual Disabilities Who Convey Behaviours That Challenge Others: A Systematic Rapid Scoping Review.

Background: There are increasing numbers of ageing family carers of older (40+) adults with intellectual disabilities who convey behaviours that challenge others in the UK. It is important to understand the needs and experiences of these carers as they support their older family member to transition to different care contexts.

Method: A rapid scoping review of published and unpublished literature, using systematic methods of data searching, extraction and analysis.

'I'm ruined': Young people's and their mothers' experiences of living with, and receiving a diagnosis of, borderline personality disorder: An interpretative phenomenological analysis.

Background: The adolescent borderline personality disorder (BPD) diagnosis has been widely debated for many years. Strikingly, young people's experiences of both receiving a diagnosis of BPD, and of living with BPD, are largely under-explored. The current study seeks to address these gaps in the literature in a multi-perspectival design utilising young people-parent dyads.
