Retinal dystrophies and age-related macular degeneration related to photoreceptor degeneration can cause blindness. In blind patients, although the electrical activation of the residual retinal circuit can provide useful artificial visual perception, the resolutions of current retinal prostheses have been limited either by large electrodes or small numbers of pixels. Here we report the evaluation, in three awake non-human primates, of a previously reported near-infrared-light-sensitive photovoltaic subretinal prosthesis.

Method: Urinary continence of the first 59 patients operated by Ro RP between May 2008 and August 2009 was evaluated by self-questionnaires. Results were compared to those obtained in 2006 using the same questionnaire from patients operated by Lap RP or Op RP in the same institution.
Aim: To define predictive factors of treatment failure in a multicentric study for the treatment of stress male urinary incontinence by InVance (American Medical System, USA) bone anchored sub-urethral sling.
Method: Cases treated by InVance between January 2005 and December 2007 in four French academic centers were collected.
Results: Eighty-four patients were evaluated.
