: Hydrogen gas (H) has been shown to be effective in the treatment of various clinical conditions, from acute illnesses to chronic illnesses. However, its clinical indications and the corresponding appropriate hydrogen delivery methods have yet to be determined. This is due to the fact that the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of hydrogen in each delivery method have not been experimentally proven.

Carbon-carbon bond forming reactions are powerful synthetic tools for constructing organic molecular frameworks. In this study, strongly Lewis acidic bis(pentafluorophenyl)boron enolates were generated from alkynes through oxygen transfer from 2,6-dibromopyridine N-oxide using tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane [B(CF)]. Boron enolates were highly reactive owing to the strong Lewis acidity of the boron centers, and thus immediately coupled with alkynes.

We have previously identified Ertredin (3-(2-amino-5-bromophenyl) quinoxalin-2(1H)-one) as a compound that suppresses 3D spheroid formation and tumorigenesis in NIH3T3 cells induced by variant III () transduction. One of its targets has been shown to be NDUFA12 (NADH Dehydrogenase (Ubiquinone) 1 Alpha Subcomplex Subunit 12), a component protein of oxidative phosphorylation complex I. In this report, we compared the growth inhibitory activity of Ertredin with its methylated analogue 7MeERT (3-(2-amino-5-bromophenyl)-7-methylquinoxalin-2(1H)-one) on human cancer cells.
