Background: Global climate change significantly impacts ecosystems, particularly through temperature fluctuations that affect insect physiology and behavior. As poikilotherms, insect pests such as the globally devastating diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella, are especially vulnerable to rising temperatures and extreme heat events, necessitating effective adaptive mechanisms.

Results: Here we demonstrate the roles of zinc finger proteins (ZFPs) in mediating thermal adaptability in DBM.

Erectile dysfunction(ED), a prevalent condition within the male genitourinary system, significantly impairs the quality of life for affected men. Although certain inflammatory indicators, such as the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR), systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI), and systemic immune-inflammation index(SII), have been linked to ED, the correlation with other markers and their impact on survival outcomes in ED patients remain largely unexplored. This research aims to investigate the correlation between inflammatory biomarkers derived from a complete blood cell count(CBC) and the occurrence of ED.

Although acute myeloid leukemia (AML) affects hematopoietic stem cell (HSC)-supportive microenvironment, it is largely unknown whether leukemia-modified bone marrow (BM) microenvironment can be remodeled to support normal hematopoiesis after complete remission (CR). As a key element of BM microenvironment, endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) provide a feasible way to investigate BM microenvironment remodeling. Here, we find reduced and dysfunctional BM EPCs in AML patients, characterized by impaired angiogenesis and high ROS levels, could be partially remodeled after CR and improved by N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC).

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as crucial regulators in cancer progression. We found lncRNA DNM1P35 is elevated in ovarian tumors compared to normal tissues, and demonstrated that lncRNA DNM1P35 promoted cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion in SK-OV-3 and OVCAR-3 cell lines. Furthermore, lncRNA DNM1P35 also facilitated the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of ovarian cancer cells.

Ischemia and hypoxia caused by vascular injury intensify nerve damage. Skin precursor-derived Schwann cells have demonstrated an accelerated in vivo pre-vascularization of tissue-engineered nerves. Furthermore, extracellular vesicles from skin precursor-derived Schwann cells (SKP-SC-EVs) show the potential in aiding peripheral nerve regeneration.
