The conjugated polymer's backbone conformation dictates the delocalization of electrons, ultimately affecting its optoelectronic properties. Most conjugated polymers can be viewed as semirigid rods with their backbone embedded among long alkyl side chains. Thus, it is challenging to experimentally quantify the conformation of a conjugated backbone.

Newly qualified general nurses' experiences of pre-registration internship: A Republic of Ireland cross-sectional study.

Aim: The aim of this study was to examine Newly Qualified General Nurses' (NQGNs') experiences of and the value of the internship period.

Background: Internship was introduced as the final part of the undergraduate nursing degree in Ireland in 2002. The aim was to provide students with clinical experience, whereby they work more independently and in doing so, seamlessly progress their transition to the role of registered nurse.

Pilot Trial of Perampanel on Peritumoral Hyperexcitability in Newly Diagnosed High-grade Glioma.

Purpose: Glutamatergic neuron-glioma synaptogenesis and peritumoral hyperexcitability promote glioma growth in a positive feedback loop. The objective of this study was to evaluate the feasibility and estimated effect sizes of the targeted AMPA receptor antagonist perampanel on peritumoral hyperexcitability.

Experimental Design: An open-label trial was performed comparing perampanel with standard of care (SOC) in patients undergoing resection of newly diagnosed radiologic high-grade glioma.

Neurobiology of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder: historical challenges and emerging frontiers.

Extensive investigations spanning multiple levels of inquiry, from genetic to behavioural studies, have sought to unravel the mechanistic foundations of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), with the aspiration of developing efficacious treatments for this condition. Despite these efforts, the pathogenesis of ADHD remains elusive. In this Review, we reflect on what has been learned about ADHD while also providing a framework that may serve as a roadmap for future investigations.
