Background: Endoscopic transorbital approach (eTOA) has been recently proposed as an alternative skull base approach. However, its feasibility for deeper lesions can be hampered by a reduced surgical maneuverability. Aim of this study is to consider how its extension through orbital rim resection can overcome this limitation, and to compare two different techniques for its removal.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of adding Lacticaseibacillus casei as probiotic culture and/or camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia) pulp on the chemical profile, technological, functional, and sensory properties, phenolics concentration and bioaccessibility, and microbiota of kombucha. Adding L. casei decreased some volatile compounds and fruity flavor intensity and increased the Lactobacillus relative abundance (+35.

Background: Lower limb length discrepancy (LLD) in children and adolescents, often due to congenital or acquired conditions, is treated to achieve limb equality and alignment, optimizing function and minimizing cosmetic concerns for an active adulthood. This study evaluated the Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) and physical functioning of adults who underwent unilateral limb lengthening with circular external fixators (EFs) in childhood.

Methods: Fifty patients treated at a median age of 14.

Introduction: Endoscopic endonasal approach (EEA) plays a central role in the treatment of GH-secreting pituitary adenomas (PAs)/pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs), allowing to treat not only micro- or regular macro- PAs/PitNEts, but also more complex cases, otherwise requiring a transcranial or other open approaches.

Materials And Methods: All consecutive cases of GH-secreting PAs/PitNETs treated by EEA from May 1998 to June 2023 at our Institution were included. Patients clinical, bio-chemical, and neuroradiological features were considered, as well the surgical approach adopted for each case and its related complications.

The study aimed to develop innovative microencapsulated formulations of strains with probiotic attributes, Pichia kluyveri CCMA 0615 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae CCMA 0732. The yeasts (8 log CFU/mL) were microencapsulated by spray drying technique using whey powder (WP - 15 %, 20 %, and 30 %) and sodium alginate (ALG - 1 %). The microcapsules and cell viability were characterized during two months of storage (4 °C and 25 °C).
