Objective: One of the main problems with Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) is its tendency to recur. The objective of the study is to analyze which factors in the clinical management of CDI favor recurrence.
Methods: This is a retrospective study conducted at the Hospital Universitario Príncipe de Asturias on cases of CDI between January 2021 and June 2023.
Unlabelled: Obesity is a major contributor to metabolic and cardiovascular disease. Although senescent cells have been shown to accumulate in adipose tissue, the role of senescence in obesity-induced metabolic disorders and in cardiac dysfunction is not yet clear; therefore, the therapeutic potential of managing senescence in obesity-related metabolic and cardiac disorders remains to be fully defined.
Objective: We investigated the beneficial effects of a senolytic cocktail (dasatinib and quercetin) on senescence and its influence on obesity-related parameters.
Primary aldosteronism (PA) is commonly associated with resistant hypertension. Biochemical tests can be clinically useful in the screening and diagnosis of primary aldosteronism. This study aimed to identify the cutoff values of aldosterone levels (A) and the aldosterone-renin ratio (ARR) for an accurate prediction of PA in patients with apparent resistant hypertension in a real-life scenario.

Background: We investigate the role of galantamine on autonomic dysfunction associated with early cardiometabolic dysfunction in the offspring of fructose-overloaded rats.
Methods: rats received fructose diluted in drinking water (10%) or water for 60 days prior to mating. Fructose overload was maintained until the end of lactation.
Aim: This study aimed to investigate the acute effects of dietary nitrate ingestion through l-arginine supplementation or dehydrated beet consumption on endothelial function in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients. The secondary outcome was to analyze arterial stiffness, plasma nitrate, and nitrate/protein concentration.
Methods: In this randomized crossover study, subjects with COPD underwent three series of supplementation: (1) l-arginine, (2) dehydrated beetroot, and (3) a placebo that appeared like the other supplements.
