Background: Pharmacological vitamin C (Vit-C), or high-dose Vit-C has recently gained attention as a potential cancer therapeutic. However, the anticancer activity of Vit-C has not been investigated in realistic 3D models of human cancers, especially with respect to breast cancer (BC), and its potential benefits remain under debate. Herein, we investigate the activity and mechanism of action of pharmacological Vit-C on two BC tumor spheroids.

Nonylphenol (NP) is a ubiquitous environmental endocrine disrupting chemical and oxidative stress inducer in biological systems. Resveratrol (RES) and Naringenin (NG) are phytochemicals possessing antioxidant properties and estrogenic activity. This study was conducted to investigate the toxicity of NP and the mitigating effects of RES and NG on NP toxicity in rats.

In the field of solar steam generation, hydrogels with interfacial evaporation configurations stand as a promising candidate for solar evaporators. Hydrogel-based photothermal materials provide excellent hydration channels for supplying water to an evaporative layer due to their porous structure and hydrophilic nature. This work proposed a facile and in-situ fabrication of sodium alginate hydrogel incorporated with cellulose nanocrystals and polypyrrole as an effective photothermal material.

Aims: The present study aimed to detect the frequency of vancomycin resistance and virulence genes` profiles of multi-drug resistant (MDR) enterococcal isolates from different sources and to investigate the sequence heterogeneity between the esp genes of MDR and vancomycin-resistant E. faecalis isolates from chicken and human sources.

Methods And Results: Conventional phenotypic methods identified 91 isolates (60.
