In this paper, we analyze the subjective inclusion experiences of visually impaired (VI) adult tennis players from an ableism-critical perspective. The primary focus of this research is the inclusive potential of blind tennis from the perspective of VI individuals. Episodic interviews were conducted to capture subjective perspectives.

Challenges and facilitators in the experience of caregiving for an older adult with traumatic brain injury: A longitudinal qualitative study in the first-year postinjury.

Purpose: To obtain a better understanding of the factors which complicate or facilitate the adjustment of caregivers after traumatic brain injury (TBI) in older adults.

Research Method: At 4, 8, and 12 months post-TBI (mild to severe), 65 caregivers answered two open-ended questions regarding facilitators and challenges linked to the injury of their loved one. A thematic analysis was performed.

Capture and Real-Time Enrichment of Marine Chemical Diversity.

Analyzing the chemical composition of seawater to understand its influence on ecosystem functions is a long-lasting challenge due to the inherent complexity and dynamic nature of marine environments. Describing the intricate chemistry of seawater requires optimal sampling. Here is presented a novel underwater hand-held solid-phase extraction device, I-SMEL (In Situ Marine moleculELogger), which aims to concentrate diluted molecules from large volumes of seawater in a delimited zone targeting keystone benthic species.

Insurance approval rates for collagenase clostridium histolyticum prior to discontinuation: a Canada-wide analysis.

Collagenase Clostridium histolyticum (CCh), the first approved non-surgical treatment for Peyronie's disease (PD), was withdrawn from the European, Canadian, and Asian markets due to poor demand and lack of government reimbursement options. We sought to assess insurance approval rates and usage of CCh across Canada to understand the factors that led to its withdrawal. Data on patients prescribed CCh for PD or Dupuytren's contracture was obtained through collaboration with BioScript Solutions to assess the association of variables with insurance approval and prescription filling.

Fetal Heart Rate < 3rd Percentile for Gestational Age Can Be a Marker of Inherited Arrhythmia Syndromes.

Background: Repeated fetal heart rates (FHR) < 3rd percentile for gestational age (GA) with 1:1 atrioventricular conduction (sinus bradycardia) can be a marker for long QT syndrome. We hypothesized that other inherited arrhythmia syndromes might present with fetal sinus bradycardia.

Methods: We reviewed pregnancies referred with sinus bradycardia to the Colorado Fetal Care Center between 2013 and 2023.
