Independent Association Between Occupational Exposure and Decline of FVC in Systemic Sclerosis: A Multicenter Recruitment Retrospective Cohort Study.

Background: Although male sex is associated with poor prognosis in systemic sclerosis (SSc), it is unclear whether this association is independent of confounding factors such as occupational exposure to toxicants.

Research Question: What is the respective impact of sex and occupational exposure on characteristics of patients with SSc with a focus on lung function decline?

Study Design And Methods: Patients with SSc (n = 210; 55 men) underwent standardized quantitative assessment of occupational exposure through a cumulative exposure score (CES) in a multicenter recruitment retrospective cohort. Association of the CES with patients' characteristics was assessed.

The relationship of semantic intrusions to different etiological subtypes of MCI and cognitively healthy older adults.

Introduction: There is increasing evidence that susceptibility to proactive semantic interference (PSI) and the failure to recover from PSI (frPSI) as evidenced by intrusion errors may be early cognitive markers of both preclinical and prodromal Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Methods: One hundred forty-five participants were administered extensive clinical and neuropsychological evaluations including the Loewenstein-Acevedo Scales for Semantic Interference and Learning (LASSI-L), a sensitive cognitive stress test measuring PSI and frPSI. Participants also underwent structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and amyloid positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging.

Boosting Autobiographical Memory and the Sense of Identity of Alzheimer Patients Through Repeated Reminiscence Workshops?

Despite severe amnesia, some studies showed that Alzheimer Disease (AD) patients with moderate to severe dementia keep a consistent, but impoverished representation of themselves, showing preservation of the sense of identity even at severe stages of the illness. Some studies suggest that listening to music can facilitate the reminiscence of autobiographical memories and that stimulating autobiographical memory would be relevant to support the self of these patients. Consequently, we hypothesized that repeated participation to reminiscence workshops, using excerpts of familiar songs as prompts would participate to the enrichment of autobiographical memories, self-representation and sense of identity.

[Systemic Rosai-Dorfman-Destombes disease associated with a myelodysplastic syndrome. Efficacy of hematologic treatment].

Introduction: We report an original observation of multifocal refractory Destombes-Rosai-Dorfman disease associated with a myelodysplastic syndrome. The treatment of myelodysplasia allowed a good and prolonged response of both pathologies.

Case Report: A 35-year-old patient was investigated for bilateral exophthalmia, histologically related to Destombes-Rosai-Dorfman disease.

Severe leptospirosis in non-tropical areas: a nationwide, multicentre, retrospective study in French ICUs.

Purpose: To report the incidence, risk factors, clinical presentation, and outcome predictors of severe leptospirosis requiring intensive care unit (ICU) admission in a temperate zone.

Methods: LEPTOREA was a retrospective multicentre study conducted in 79 ICUs in metropolitan France. Consecutive adults admitted to the ICU for proven severe leptospirosis from January 2012 to September 2016 were included.
