In recent years, the rapid development and employment of autonomous technology have been observed in many areas of human activity. Autonomous technology can readily adjust its function to environmental conditions and enable an efficient operation without human control. While applying the same concept to designing advanced biomolecular therapies would revolutionize nanomedicine, the design approaches to engineering biological nanocomputing agents for predefined operations within living cells remain a challenge.

Academic and Community Hospitals differ in stroke subtype classification and cardiac monitoring: the DiVERT multi-center cohort study.

Background: Cardiac monitoring strategies to detect occult atrial fibrillation (AF) post-stroke differ among healthcare institutions. This may be related to discrepancies in stroke subtype classification/adjudication, and/or consultation of cardiology specialists at Community Hospitals (CoH) and Academic Centers (AcC). Identifying the degree of heterogeneity may encourage development of guideline-directed monitoring protocols, result in higher AF detection rates and treatments, and fewer strokes.

Superior Ophthalmic Vein Thrombosis Associated With Acute Suppurative Parotitis and Masticator Space Cellulitis: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Superior ophthalmic vein thrombosis (SOVT) is a rare phenomenon caused by both septic and aseptic etiologies. Individuals suffering from SOVT commonly present with ophthalmoplegia, proptosis, chemosis, and impaired vision. The superior ophthalmic vein is a valveless vein that drains into the cavernous sinus; for this reason, SOVT can present with dire complications such as cavernous sinus thrombosis in addition to debilitating permanent ophthalmoplegia and permanent vision loss if left untreated.

Evaluating the Impact of Buprenorphine on Depressive Symptoms Among Veterans with Chronic Pain.

Buprenorphine has demonstrated benefit for acute and chronic pain and various psychiatric disorders. However, many studies evaluating buprenorphine's effect on psychiatric conditions are not specific to the chronic pain population. This retrospective study was conducted to assess the impact of buprenorphine on depressive symptoms in patients with chronic pain at a Veterans Affairs healthcare facility.

Effectiveness of Damoctocog Alfa Pegol to Treat Patients With Hemophilia A Enrolled in the ATHNdataset.

Objectives: Health information for 17 109 people living with hemophilia A (PLwHA) is contained within the ATHNdataset. We aimed to evaluate the real-world effectiveness of damoctocog alfa pegol (BAY 94-9027, Jivi®) for hemophilia A.

Methods: The ATHNdataset was queried for PLwHA receiving damoctocog alfa pegol between January 1, 2010 and April 30, 2022.
