Cyto-histo correlation and false-negative urine: Before and after the Paris system for reporting urinary cytology.

Background: The impact of implementing the Paris system (TPS) on the rate of discrepant cases in the negative for high-grade urothelial carcinoma (NHGUC) category that had a subsequent diagnosis of high-grade urothelial carcinoma (HGUC) on histology is not well studied.

Methods: We adopted TPS in May 2019. We searched discrepant cases with negative urine cytology 2017-2019 in our cyto-histo correlation database.

The infection by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the disease called COVID-19, mainly causes alterations in the respiratory system. In severely ill patients, the disease often evolves into an acute respiratory distress syndrome that can predispose patients to a state of hypercoagulability, with thrombosis at both venous and arterial levels. This predisposition presents a multifactorial physiopathology, related to hypoxia as well as to the severe inflammatory process linked to this pathology, including the additional thrombotic factors present in many of the patients.

Tectal glioma as a distinct diagnostic entity: a comprehensive clinical, imaging, histologic and molecular analysis.

Tectal glioma (TG) is a rare low-grade tumor occurring predominantly in the pediatric population. There has been no detailed analysis of molecular alterations in TG. Risk factors associated with inferior outcome and long-term sequelae of TG have not been well-documented.

Pemphigus vulgaris in pregnancy.

We report the case of a 34-year-old woman who was diagnosed with pemphigus vulgaris (PV) during pregnancy. The patient presented with widespread blistering dermatitis and associated burning and pruritus. At 6 weeks' gestation the patient was admitted to the hospital to expedite her diagnosis and initiate treatment.

[Polymicrogyria: epidemiology, neurological and anatomical factors and clinical outcome in a series of 34 cases].

Introduction: The aim of our study is to describe the epidemiology, clinical evolution, and the anatomical and neurological factors involved in polymicrogyria in 34 patients with this disorder.

Subjects And Methods: We have compiled 34 patients diagnosed and/or in follow-up at the Department of Paediatric Neurology of the Hospital Infantil Niño Jesús between 1995 and 2010. All the patients had a magnetic resonance imaging suggestive of polymicrogyria, and most of the patients still have periodic checks, thus their outcome is known.
