Evaluation of the Test Phase of the "Program GIFT in Residence": Results from a Pilot Participatory Action Research.

Despite the negative effects on older adults, resident-to-resident aggression (RRA) remains a complex and understudied problem. Few interventions exist that address this issue by promoting goodwill. Using the intervention mapping approach, the evaluation of the test phase of the pilot Program GIFT in private seniors' residences (PSRs) (Quebec, Canada) was conducted through qualitative interviews with 25 residents, 21 staff members, and 4 managers.

Impact of financial incentives introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic on nursing staff: a mixed-method protocol.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on nursing staff, resulting in alarming turnover rates. As part of the Quebec (Canada) government's response to the pandemic, nurses have been offered exceptional financial incentives. Considering the cost of these measures, the current article presents the research protocol of a study aiming to explore the impact of financial incentives on full-time equivalent, and retention rates among the nursing staff in two healthcare settings in Quebec.

Extracellular vesicles in parasitic protozoa: Impact of Leishmania exosomes containing Leishmania RNA virus 1 (LRV1) on Leishmania infectivity and disease progression.

This chapter focuses on the interplay between Leishmania parasites and their host, particularly on Leishmania RNA virus (LRVs) and extracellular vesicles (EVs) in modulating host-pathogen interactions. Leishmania EVs have been shown to facilitate gene transfer, including drug-resistance genes, enhancing the parasites' survival and resistance to antileishmanial therapeutics. These EVs also play a significant role in host immune modulation by altering cytokine production in macrophages and promoting an anti-inflammatory environment that favours parasitic persistence.
