The accuracy of MRI in detecting pathological complete response following neoadjuvant chemotherapy in different breast cancer subtypes.

Background: Pathological complete response (pCR) following neo-adjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) for breast cancer is associated with improved disease-free and overall survival in certain breast cancer subtypes. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is increasingly used as standard to assess treatment response in patients receiving NACT. The aim of this study was to determine the clinical utility of MRI in accurately predicting pCR post-NACT.

A rare case of aortic endograft infection by Francisella tularensis: A case report.

INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE: endovascular repair is an alternative to open repair for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), which lowers morbidity and mortality but may presents infectious complications. Endograft infection is a rare but serious life-threatening condition with a mortality rate up to 50 %. We reported a case of aortic endograft infection by Francisella tularensis, rare and highly virulent gram-negative coccobacillus known for use in bioterrorism.

[The hemolytic-uremic syndrome during contraceptive prevention with Rigevidon].

A case of a 20-year-old woman who developed a hemolytic-uremic syndrome while using the contraceptive drug Rigevidon is reported. Clinically the disease was manifested by acute renal failure, thrombocytopenic purpura and hemolytic anemia. The treatment with antiaggregants, anticoagulants, hemodialysis and plasmapheresis was without effect.
