Background: Psoriasis and atopic dermatitis are chronic skin diseases found all over the world that cause a lot of suffering to patients.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to answer the following questions: whether people suffering from psoriasis and AD have greater problems with recognizing emotions, the effectiveness of attention and memory processes, and whether they use different strategies of coping with stress than healthy people.

Methods: This study involved 90 patients, including 30 patients with psoriasis, 30 patients with AD and 30 healthy patients, aged 21 to 63 years, including 54 women and 36 men.

This is a case report of a 76-year-old women with hematometra due to cervical cancer followed by DIC. To the authors' knowledge this is the first report of such case.

[The influence of antibiotic prophylaxis on the incidence of fever and wound infection after gynecological operations in patients with increased risk of infection].

Antibiotic prophylaxis was applied to patients with high risk of infection undergoing: myomectomy m. Martin, procedures on the uterine adnexa, total and/or subtotal hysterectomy and laparoscopy. The influence of this prophylaxis on the incidence of fever and wound infection was observed.

[Markers of coagulation and fibrinolysis in peripheral blood and in blood collected pouch of Douglas in patients with ectopic pregnancy].

In cases of ectopic pregnancy a blood collected in a pouch of Douglas is a nonclotting one. It contains no fibrinogen, prothrombin, factor V and VII, plasminogen and monomers of fibrin, however concentration of D-dimers is very high. Is this solely an effect of independently occurring fibrinolysis or does coagulation accompany this process? The definite answer can not be given.
