Staging for endometrial carcinoma FIGO 2023 and its relevance for clinical practice.

Background: International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (Fédération Internationale de Gynécologie et d'Obstétrique - FIGO) introduced a new staging system for endometrial carcinoma - FIGO 2023 - in June 2023.

Objective: The new staging system differs significantly from previous versions. The new system represents a significant departure from the traditional staging systems for other gynaecological cancers, as the definition of individual stages includes not only the traditional anatomical extent of the tumour, but also the molecular profile of the tumour and other histopathological parameters - histological type of tumour, tumour grade and the presence of substantial lymphovascular invasion.

Circulating tumor cells in patients with cervical cancer undergoing chemoradiotherapy combined with brachytherapy.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have significant potential to become an important tool for monitoring the effects of treatment in solid tumors. The present study reports the occurance of CTCs in cervical cancer (CC) patients during radical chemoradiotherapy (CRT), including brachytherapy (BRT), and during the follow-up period. Patients diagnosed with CC treated with radical CRT were included in the study (n=30).

Middle cerebral artery peak systolic velocity monitoring of fetal anemia during chemotherapy in pregnancy.

Introduction: Chemotherapy during pregnancy can increase the risk of fetal anemia. Severe fetal anemia can lead to the development of hydrops fetalis and potentially fetal demise. Hence, it is imperative to implement consistent monitoring methods in the context of chemotherapy treatment.

Management of patient with breast carcinoma diagnosed during pregnancy.

Objective: To present actual complex review of diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer during pregnancy, demonstrated on particular case report.

Setting: University Hospital Královské Vinohrady, Prague Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology.

The current role of radiotherapy and systemic therapy in the multidisciplinary treatment of cholangiocarcinoma.

Cholangiocarcinoma is a cancer with very poor prognosis. The only potentially curative approach is surgical resection of tumor. However, the rate of local and distant recurrence after radical surgery is still high.
