This work investigates the detection of defunct or absent diesel particle filters by drive-through remote sensing measurement at the Czech University of Life Sciences main vehicular entrance gate. An exhaust sample was collected by a line attached to the road surface in the center of the travel lane. A non-volatile particle number (nvPN) counter and electric mobility particle size classifier were used to measure particle number concentrations, and an FTIR analyzer was used to measure CO, CO, and NO concentrations.

Polymers are becoming a very popular tool in the crystallization of different compounds. In this work, a new method of crystallization is proposed using stimuli-responsive star polymer in order to obtain hollow structure crystals. In these experiments, amphiphilic copolymer of acrylic acid (AA) and methyl acrylate (MA) were used for isohydric crystallization via they cooling of KCl in deionized water solution.

The application of polymers as a tool in the crystallization process is gaining more and more interest among the scientific community. According to Web of Science statistics the number of papers dealing with "Polymer induced crystallization" increased from 2 in 1990 to 436 in 2020, and for "Polymer controlled crystallization"-from 4 in 1990 to 344 in 2020. This is clear evidence that both topics are vivid, attractive and intensively investigated nowadays.

Traditionally, the synthesis of nanomaterials in the ultra-small size regime (1-3 nm diameter) has been linked with the employment of excessive amounts of hazardous chemicals, inevitably leading to significant environmentally detrimental effects. In the current work, we demonstrate the potential of laser fragmentation in liquids (LFL) to produce highly pure and stable iron ultra-small nanoparticles. This is carried out by reducing the size of carbonyl iron microparticles dispersed in various polar solvents (water, ethanol, ethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol 400) and liquid nitrogen.

Background: The study aimed to assess the performance and safety of single-use applicators prefilled with hyaluronic acid (HA)-based vaginal gel (Hyalo Gyn) for the treatment of vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA)-related signs and symptoms in postmenopausal women.

Methods: Eighty women were randomized, 46 to Hyalo Gyn gel and 34 to a standard treatment (water-based lubricant). Outcome data collected included: the proportion of subjects having a reduction ≥1 point in the Verbal Rating Scale (VRS) Dryness Score, VRS Global Score, vaginal pH, Vaginal Health Index, Female Sexual Function Index, Female Sexual Distress Scale-Revised, patients' global assessment, tolerability, and safety.
