Mianserin HC1 (Bolvidon) is a new antidepressant agent of the diperazino-azepine group, not related chemically to the tricyclic antidepressants. It lacks the basic side-chain considered to be responsible for the anticholinergic activity, including mydriasis, of the tricyclic antidepressants.
