Background: The lack of complete protection against leishmaniasis and the challenges of anti-leishmaniasis drug treatment have made the treatment process more difficult. This study aimed to develop a new strategy for preparing a vaccine against cutaneous leishmaniasis using some of the antigenic proteins of the parasite.
Methods: This study was carried out in 2022 at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Ahvaz, Iran.
Introduction: Management of gastroesophageal reflux disease after bariatric procedures can be challenging. There are very few long-term studies in this arena. This study aims to evaluate the long-term outcomes of the magnetic sphincter augmentation (MSA) reflux management system in a cohort of bariatric patients who had previously undergone sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, with a focus on assessing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) scores, medication use, and patient-reported symptoms.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA vast variety of chemical compounds have been fabricated and commercialized, they not only result in industrial exposure during manufacturing and usage, but also have environmental impacts throughout their whole life cycle. Consequently, attempts to assess the risk of chemicals in terms of toxicology have never ceased. toxicology, also known as predictive toxicology, has advanced significantly over the last decade as a result of the drawbacks of experimental investigations.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFFibre-optic based time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy (TRFS) is an advanced spectroscopy technique that generates sample-specific spectral-temporal signature, characterising variations in fluorescence in real-time. As such, it can be used to interrogate tissue autofluorescence. Recent advancements in TRFS technology, including the development of devices that simultaneously measure high-resolution spectral and temporal fluorescence, paired with novel analysis methods extracting information from these multidimensional measurements effectively, provide additional insight into the underlying autofluorescence features of a sample.
