Initial experience with zero-fluoroscopy pulmonary vein isolation in patients with atrial fibrillation: single-center observational trial.

Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) stands as a widely practiced cardiac ablation procedure on a global scale, conventionally guided by fluoroscopy. The concurrent application of electroanatomical mapping systems (EAMS) and intracardiac echocardiography offers a means to curtail radiation exposure. This study aimed to compare procedural outcomes between conventional and our initial zero-fluoroscopy cases in patients with paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), undergoing point-by-point PVI.

The Influence of Different Multipolar Mapping Catheter Types on Procedural Outcomes in Patients Undergoing Pulmonary Vein Isolation for Atrial Fibrillation.

(1) Background: During pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) for atrial fibrillation (AF), multipolar mapping catheters (MMC) are often used. We aimed to compare the procedural outcomes of two MMCs, specifically a circular-shaped and a five-spline-shaped MMC. (2) Methods: We enrolled 70 consecutive patients in our prospective, observational trial undergoing PVI procedures for paroxysmal AF.

[CHEK1 expression and inhibitors in TP53 mutant cancer].

The most frequently mutated gene in human tumors is TP53 and its mutation significantly deteriorates patients' survival. However, to date no targeted therapy is established for TP53 mutated tumors. Here, our aim was to identify druggable kinases with higher expression in TP53 mutated tumors, as well as relate these to altered prognosis.

[Allele-specific inhibitors of mutant KRAS are in the focus of RASopathy consortium].

The RASopathy consortium was built from research groups of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Eötvös Loránd University, Semmelweis University and two startups: KINETO Lab Ltd. and Fototronic Ltd. The goal was to design and test novel covalent and allele-specific KRAS small molecular inhibitors.

A comparison of the lateral tarsal strip with everting sutures and the Quickert procedure for involutional entropion.

Background/aims: To provide evidence of statistically significant difference in the surgical outcome of the lateral tarsal strip with everting sutures (LTS + ES) versus the Quickert procedure (QP) in the treatment of involutional entropion.

Methods: In a prospective randomized comparative trial, 66 eyelids of 52 patients with primary involutional lower eyelid entropion were recruited. Thirty-six eyelids were randomized to QP, and 30 eyelids were randomized to LTS + ES.
