Building on our previous studies, which have demonstrated that homochiral propagating species-(*,*)-[MeGa(-OCH(Me)COR)]-were crucial for the heteroselectivity of [MeGa(-OCH(Me)COMe)] in the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of racemic lactide (-LA), we have investigated the effect of alkyl groups on the structure and catalytic properties of dialkylgallium alkoxides in the ROP of -LA. Therefore, we have isolated and characterized the -[RGa(-OCH(Me)COMe] (R = Et (), Pr () and -[RGa(-OCH(Me)CHN] (R = Et (), Pr ()) complexes, to demonstrate the effect of alkyl groups on the chiral recognition induced the formation of the respective homochiaral species-(*,*)-[RGa(-OCH(Me)COMe)] and (*,*)-[RGa(-OCH(Me)CHN]. Moreover, we have investigated the structure of (,)-[RGa(-OCH(Me)COMe] (R = Et ((,)-, R = Pr ((,)-,) and their catalytic activity in the ROP of -LA.

Article Synopsis
  • Multicomponent crystals are valuable in crystal engineering due to their tunable composition, structure, and properties.
  • The cocrystal ETYFUM shows unique pressure behavior and negative thermal expansion, making it potentially better than conventional materials.
  • A related cocrystal, ETYSUC, exhibits similar behaviors under pressure and temperature changes, but the minor structural differences lead to significant variations in their responses to external conditions.

Article Synopsis
  • Lactams are important compounds used in treating various diseases like cancer and diabetes, and are found in many pharmaceuticals.
  • The addition of fluorine groups, particularly trifluoromethyl, can significantly change the properties of these organic molecules.
  • The review discusses key biological targets and synthesis methods for different lactam types while identifying promising lactam structures for future drug development.

The incorporation of fluorine atoms within the structure of organic compounds is known to exert a significant impact on their electronic properties, thereby modulating their reactivity in diverse chemical transformations. In the context of our investigation, we observed a striking illustration of this phenomenon. A Michael addition involving -difluorovinyl and trifluorovinyl acceptors was successfully achieved, demonstrating high stereoselectivity.

Primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an antiplatelet-antibody-mediated disorder with accelerated platelet clearance and decreased platelet production. Rozanolixizumab, a monoclonal IgG4 anti-FcRn antibody, blocks IgG recycling and decreases IgG levels. We report efficacy and safety of rozanolixizumab in adults with persistent/chronic ITP in 24-week phase 3 studies (TP0003; TP0006), and their 52-week open-label extension (OLE).
