Introduction: The rapid adoption of electronic health record (EHR) systems has resulted in extensive archives of data relevant to clinical research, hospital operations, and the development of learning health systems. However, EHR data are not frequently available, cleaned, standardized, validated, and ready for use by stakeholders. We describe an in-progress effort to overcome these challenges with cooperative, systematic data extraction and validation.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of age correction up to 36 months of age for growth assessments of extremely preterm (<28 weeks) and very preterm (28 to <32 weeks) infants.

Study Design: This longitudinal analysis used data from the Preterm Infant Multicenter Growth Study (2001-2014).

Results: 1,416 children were included (Median gestational age = 27 weeks).

Airbags have significantly reduced the severity of injuries sustained in vehicular crashes. The most common injuries are minor abrasions, contusions, etc., but severe and fatal thermal burns and craniofacial fractures may occur nonetheless.
