Asthma is a major non-communicable disease whose pathogenesis is still not fully elucidated. One of the asthma research models is precision-cut lung slices (PCLSs), and among the therapeutic options, miRNA molecules are of great interest. Background: Precision-cut lung slices (PCLS) are ex vivo models with preserved lung cell populations and maintained tissue architecture. PCLS are, therefore, a powerful tool in respiratory research to study molecular mechanisms that closely reflect whole tissue biology. High-quality RNA and protein extraction from PCLS is, however, challenging as agarose significantly interferes with the yield and purity of extracted material.

Background: The Coordinated Care Program after Myocardial Infarction (KOS-MI) implemented in Poland has shown significant improvement in patient prognosis, ended in nationwide success, and got international attention. A similar program and methodology may be an attractive option for patients with heart failure (HF).
