Background: Alcohol septal ablation (ASA) is used to treat drug-refractory hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). Intraprocedural echocardiography is essential for identifying the septal area perfused by each septal branch; however, its role in determining the procedural endpoint of ASA remains unclear. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the impact of intraprocedural echocardiographic findings on clinical outcomes and left ventricular pressure gradient (LVPG) after ASA.

Efficient screening for amyloid pathology is critical for identifying patients for early treatment. This study developed machine learning models to classify positron emission tomography (PET) Aβ-positivity in participants with preclinical and prodromal AD using data accessible to primary care physicians.

A 55-year-old male with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, treated with eltrombopag, developed a rapid decline in renal function following the increase in eltrombopag dose. Renal biopsy showed glomerular endothelial disorder and platelet thrombus, which suggested eltrombopag-induced renal-limited thrombotic microangiopathy.

Haemolysis after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has been reported in some studies, all of which were non-critical. Data related to haemolysis associated with new-generation balloon-expandable valve (BEV) are scarce.
