Alzheimers Dement
December 2024
Background: NIAGADS is a national genomics data repository that facilitates access of genotypic and sequencing data to qualified investigators for the study of the genetics of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related neurological diseases. Collaborations with large consortia and centers such as the Alzheimer's Disease Genetics Consortium (ADGC), Cohorts for Heart and Aging Research in Genomic Epidemiology (CHARGE) Consortium, the Alzheimer's Disease Sequencing Project (ADSP), and the Genome Center for Alzheimer's Disease (GCAD) allow NIAGADS to lead the effort in managing large AD datasets that can be easily accessed and fully utilized by the research community.
Method: NIAGADS is supported by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) under a cooperative agreement.
Additive manufacturing has sought active and interactive means of creating predictable structures with diverse materials. Compared to such active manufacturing tools, current crystallization strategies remain in statistical and passive programs of crystals via macroscale thermodynamic controllers, commonly lacking active means to intervene in crystal growth in a spatiotemporal manner. Herein, a strategy toward active and interactive programming and reprogramming of crystals, realized by real-time tangible feedback on growing crystals by delicately controlling the degree of in-situ, localized photopolymerization of polymeric structures via additive manufacturing is presented.

In this study, a hierarchically structured ratchet surface with superhydrophilicity was presented as a novel oil skimming mechanism for the recovery of high-viscosity oil, particularly low-sulfur fuel oil (LSFO), which has recently been used as marine fuel in open water environments. The interaction between the superhydrophilic ratchet and oil provides favorable conditions for oil retention at the water surface.

However, knowledge regarding the influence of many trace elements, especially in combination with essential elements is limited. This study aims to address this research gap by investigating the associations of both non-essential and essential inorganic trace elements in urine with DM and obesity, employing a group of postmenopausal women (n = 851) from the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study (KoGES) cohort.

This cross-sectional study compared differences in socioeconomic status and gender related to depression among families of patients with dementia and identified associated factors.
Methods: Inequality in depression according to household income level among families of patients with dementia was assessed using the Korean Community Health Survey, which included a sample of over 200,000 participants.
