[Emotional distress in medical students in the context of university teaching on mental disorders].

Background: Numerous studies have shown a high incidence and increase in stress-related symptoms and depression-like complaints among students. During teaching on mental disorders at our medical faculty, students repeatedly reported emotionally stressful situations and expressed a desire for support services. The aim of the present study was to objectify the level of stress and the need for such support services.

Measurement of light absorption by chromophoric dissolved organic matter using a type-II liquid capillary waveguide: assessment of an achievable accuracy.

Light absorption by chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) in the ocean is often measured using liquid waveguide capillary cells coupled to spectral array detectors. This type of optical setup is affected by several sources of uncertainties related to the waveguide and the detector. Uncertainties from the waveguide arise from errors in the effective path length and the effects of water salinity, while errors related to the detector are due to the non-linearity in the response, internal stray light, and wavelength accuracy.

Community-supported teaching on the topic of transgender identity in undergraduate medical education - a pilot project.

Introduction And Objectives: Future physicians are insufficiently prepared for the topic of transgender identity during their studies. Relevant courses during undergraduate medical education are heterogeneous and not widely established within the curricula. At our university, we investigated if students' knowledge of transgender identity could be increased through medical specialist teaching and teaching delivered by representatives of the trans* community (community-supported teaching).

Background: Early information and support in dementia (FIDEM) is a cross-sectoral, general practitioner-centered network model for the improvement of community-based care of people with dementia and their caregivers by systematically assigning them to non-physician healthcare providers.

Objective: To describe the implementation of FIDEM in Göttingen, Germany and to exploratorily evaluate satisfaction and relief vs. additional workload.
