Background: Maternal clinical guidelines (MCGs) provide evidence-based recommendations for skilled birth professionals (SBPs) at the point of care. The dissemination strategies and use of MCGs are inconsistent among skilled birth providers despite their potential to improve the maternal care outcomes.
Aim: This study examined the effectiveness of dissemination strategies of MCGs by SBPs in a primary care setting.
Complete characterization of the genetic effects on gene expression is needed to elucidate tissue biology and the etiology of complex traits. In the present study, we analyzed 2,344 subcutaneous adipose tissue samples and identified 34,774 conditionally distinct expression quantitative trait locus (eQTL) signals at 18,476 genes. Over half of eQTL genes exhibited at least two eQTL signals.

The South African National Department of Health implemented a multi-partner quality improvement (QI) programme between 2018 and 2022, in 21 facilities, with the aim to reduce maternal and perinatal mortality. We conducted a qualitative evaluation to explore QI team members' perceptions of the factors shaping variation in team performance.

Alloantibodies to the major, clinically significant blood group antigens are readily identified by the blood bank which, in turn, allows for appropriate monitoring of the maternal-fetal unit. However, uncommon blood group antibodies, particularly those directed against low and high prevalence antigens, present a more formidable challenge for obstetricians, neonatologists, and transfusion medicine specialists.
