Spiritual care competence includes knowledge, behaviors, attitudes, and skills that enable successful or efficient care. In this preliminary investigation, we sought to fill this gap by exploring diverse stakeholders' perspectives on the impacts of non-clinical arts programming on Veterans receiving care at the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
Design: Semi-structured qualitative interviews with Veterans, VA staff, and community partners.
Background: Pediatric acne is a common, complex, multifactorial inflammatory skin disease with various expressions in childhood that can be categorized by age, severity, and pubertal status.
Methods: The Faces of Pediatric Acne Project (FoPAP) aims to improve patient outcomes. The FoPAP group developed an algorithm that follows a consensus paper and a clinical case series on pediatric acne by applying the selected literature and drawing from the clinical knowledge and experience of each group member.
Spiritual care requires understanding the spiritual experiences of patients and recognizing their resources and needs. Therefore, educators and practitioners should develop their knowledge and understanding in this regard. Spiritual care helps people overcome their anxieties, worries, and suffering; reduces stress; promotes healing; and encourages patients to find inner peace.
