Radionuclide concentrations in samples of medicinal herbs and effective dose from ingestion of ¹³⁷Cs and natural radionuclides in herbal tea products from Serbian market.

The objective of this study is to evaluate natural and artificial radioactivity levels in 18 different samples of medicinal herbs from Serbian market. Maternal and fetal cadmium and selenium status in normotensive and hypertensive pregnancy.

Cadmium and selenium concentrations in maternal and umbilical cord blood and amniotic fluid were determined in 37 normotensive and 23 hypertensive women during the last trimester of pregnancy in relation to their smoking status. Thiocyanate concentration in plasma was used as the index of smoking status. Cadmium and selenium were determined with atomic absorption spectrometry (graphite furnace and mercury hydride system).

[The effect of complete thymic extract on motility and progressive motility of spermatozoa in asthenozoospermia].

The thymic gland is involved in immunologic and endocrinologic heomostasis of the body. Neonatal thymectomy of experimental animals leads to gonadal dysgenesis. Both eostrogen and androgen receptors have been identified in thymic epitelial cells, and sex steroids can be modulated by secretion of thymosin.

The estimation of fructosamine and HbAlc in pregnant women with diabetes mellitus.

Fructosamine, HbAlc, glucose, albumins and total proteins were estimated in 40 healthy pregnant women and 80 pregnant women with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus. Fructosamine was estimated by the NBT method with "Fructosamine test" commercially available kit on Technicom automatic analyser RA-1000. Glucose was determined on Beckman glucose analyser.

[Correlation of glycosylated hemoglobin and fructosamine in pregnant women with diabetes mellitus].

Glycolisated hemoglobin (HBA1c), fructosamine, glucose, albumin and total proteins were estimated 40 healthy pregnant women and 90 pregnant women with diabetes mellitus. Fructosamine was estimated by NBT method with "Fructosamine test" commercially available kit on Technicom automatic analyser RA-1000. Glucose was determined on Beckmman glucose analyser.
