Background: Placenta-specific protein 1 (PLAC1) is a small secreted protein considered to be a molecule with a significant role in the development of the placenta and the establishment of the mother-foetus interface. One of the best sources of bioactive peptides are defatted egg yolk proteins, which can potentially find application as high-quality nutritional supplements for infants with cow's milk protein intolerance and as natural preservatives. The aim of this study was to evaluate the plasma levels of chemokines CCL2 and CXCL12 in female dogs with malignant mammary gland tumours without and with metastases.
