Aim: To determine the frequency and characteristics of Dense Bone Islands (DBIs) in a paediatric population residing in Chandigarh, India.

Methodology: A total of 3614 orthopantomographs (OPG) of children between the age group of 6-18 years were collected from the database of patients who underwent panoramic radiography for routine dental treatment during the period of 2018-2020. The shape, location of the lesion, and relationship of the Dense Bone Island with the tooth were identified.

Heritable thoracic aortic disease is caused by dominantly inherited mutations in more than a dozen genes, including mutations that cause Loeys-Dietz syndrome. McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston convenes a regular conference that includes cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, cardiologists, geneticists, radiologists, and pathologists to formulate multidisciplinary approaches for the management of complex heritable thoracic aortic disease cases. In this report, we highlight the unique management of individuals with distinct presentations of Loeys-Dietz syndrome owing to mutations.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) present a promising modality for numerous biological and medical applications, including therapeutics. Developing facile methods to engineer EVs is essential to meeting the rapidly expanding demand for various functionalized EVs in these applications. Herein, we developed a technology that integrates enzymatic glycoengineering and microfluidics for effective EV functionalization.

Territorial behaviors comprise a set of coordinated actions and response patterns found across animal species that promote the exclusive access to resources. House mice are highly territorial with a subset of males consistently attacking and chasing competing males to expel them from their territories and performing urine marking behaviors to signal the extent of their territories. Natural variation in territorial behaviors within a mouse colony leads to the formation of dominance hierarchies in which subordinate males can reside within the territory of a dominant male.

The documented work highlighted the synthesis of bis(benzotriazol-1-yl) methane derivatives using silicomolybdic acid (SMA) and successfully implemented in the stereoselective synthesis of diverse pyrrolo[3,4-b]pyridin-5-one and pyridyl isoindolinones derivatives in one-pot. The pyridinamide precursor with diverse alkynes furnished Z-selectivity of pyrrolo[3,4-b]pyridin-5-one across exocyclic C=C bond while the various benzamides on treating with 2-ethynyl pyridine afforded (E)-pyridylisoindoline-1-ones as a major isomer. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction provides strong evidence in favor of the existence and orientation of developed compounds.
