Introduction And Purpose: It is unknown what the incidence of gastroscopy-diagnosed marginal ulceration is, while gastroscopy is a frequently chosen diagnostic modality in patients presenting with abdominal pain with a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) in history. The aim of this study was to examine the incidence and treatment of gastroscopy-diagnosed marginal ulceration in patients presenting with the first episode of abdominal pain after RYGB, in which gastroscopy is chosen as the first step in the diagnostic work-up.

Material And Methods: A post hoc analysis was performed of a prospective cohort of 2273 patients undergoing RYGB between 2014 and 2019 in a large non-academic hospital with a dedicated bariatric unit.

Background: International consensus on classifications of appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (AMNs) and associated pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) have been carefully made but clinicopathological associations supporting decision making remain scarce.

Objective: This study aimed to assess interdependence between AMNs and PMP and provide directions for clinical management.

Methods: This two-center retrospective cohort study reviewed patients with PMP treated with cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy between 2005 and 2021.

Background: The CRC-PIPAC-II study prospectively assessed bidirectional therapy (BT) consisting of first-line palliative systemic therapy and electrostatic precipitation oxaliplatin-based pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (ePIPAC-OX) in patients with unresectable colorectal peritoneal metastases (CPM). This study describes the exploration of patient-reported outcomes (PROs).

Methods: In this phase II trial, 20 patients with isolated CPM were treated with up to three cycles of BT, each cycle consisting of two to three courses of systemic therapy, followed by ePIPAC-OX (92 mg/m).

Background: Undetected obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is highly prevalent in patients undergoing bariatric surgery and increases perioperative risks. Screening for OSA using preoperative polygraphy (PG) with subsequent continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is costly and time-consuming. Postoperative continuous pulse oximetry (CPOX) is less invasive, and is hypothesized to be a safe and cost-effective alternative.

Oxaliplatin-based pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC-OX) is an emerging palliative treatment for patients with unresectable colorectal peritoneal metastases. Previously, our study group reported that patients experienced abdominal pain for several weeks after PIPAC-OX. However, it is unknown how this compares to abdominal pain after regular colorectal cancer surgery.
