The retraction of an article is probably the most severe outcome of a scientific project. While great emphasis has been placed on articles retracted due to scientific misconduct, studies show many retractions are due to honest errors. Unfortunately, in most cases, retraction notices do not provide sufficient information to determine the specific types and causes of these errors.

This study aimed to evaluate the utility of a methylation-based ctDNA assay as a predictive tool in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) anti-PD1 based immunotherapy monitoring.
Methods: We evaluated a cohort of 20 patients with NSCLC treated with anti-PD1 based immunotherapy that had both baseline and follow-up blood draws as well as outcome data available.
Nanodiamonds (NDs) containing optically active centers have gained significant relevance as the material of choice for biological, optoelectronic, and quantum applications. However, current production methods lag behind their real needs. This study introduces two CVD-based approaches for fabricating NDs with optically active silicon-vacancy (SiV) color centers: bottom-up (BU) and top-down (TD) methods.

The study aimed to evaluate the effects and outcomes of ankle fracture treatment with absorbable implants compared to metal screws. These implants are made from poly l-lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA), however, there are several other materials available on the market.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFActivated carbon (AC) and biochar (BC) are porous materials with large surface areas and widely used in environmental and industrial applications. In this study, different types of AC and BC samples were produced from sp. by a chemical activation and pyrolysis process and compared to commercial activated carbon samples.
