Educational Curriculum for Peripheral Nerve Stimulation Developed by the North American Neuromodulation Society.

Background: Peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) is an effective neuromodulation therapy for chronic neuropathic and nociceptive pain. Although the total number of PNS implantations has increased over the last decade, no curriculum exists to guide training and learning of this therapy. The goal of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) education committee is to develop a series of competency-based curriculums for neuromodulation therapies.

A Qualitative Study of Parental Perspectives on Prenatal Counseling at Extreme Prematurity.

Objective: To determine parental preferred language, terminology, and approach after prenatal counseling for an anticipated extremely preterm delivery.

Study Design: Pregnant persons (and their partners) admitted at 22-25 weeks of estimated gestation participated in post antenatal-counseling semistructured interviews to explore preferred language and decision-making approaches of their antenatal counseling session. Interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed, and thematic analysis of the data was performed.

Premature Infants Have Normal Maturation of the T Cell Receptor Repertoire at Term.

Premature infants are known to have immature immune systems compared to term infants; however, the impacts of ex utero immune development are not well characterized. Our previous retrospective clinical review showed prolonged T cell lymphopenia in a subset of extremely premature infants, suggesting that they may have lasting abnormalities in their T cell compartments. We used T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire sequencing to analyze the composition of the T cell compartment in premature and term infants in our NICU.

Feasibility of the Figure-of-8-Suture as Venous Closure in Interventional Electrophysiology: One Strategy for All?

In contrast to arterial vascular access, no dedicated closure devices exist for closure after venous access with higher sheath sizes. The Figure-of-8-Suture, an easy to apply suture, may be as a feasible approach for closure venous puncture.
