Article Synopsis
  • - Diagnosing cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) is difficult, often leading to heart transplantation (HT) as the last option, especially when immunosuppressive therapies fail in advanced cases.
  • - The case study presents four patients, each with different symptoms and backgrounds, who ultimately required HT for their CS, revealing the condition's complexity and urgency.
  • - There are significant mid- and long-term challenges following HT for CS, notably the need for careful management of immunosuppression to prevent rejection and recurrence of sarcoidosis.

  • Most participants reported unmet HRSNs like housing and nutrition issues, preferring to address these needs with community coordinators rather than directly with clinicians, highlighting challenges and barriers they face.

High purity natural quartz is used as raw material for the manufacture of quartz glass crucibles for solar-grade silicon ingots production. One key challenge for cost-effective ingot pulling is to maximise the ability of the crucible to withstand the process conditions (, silicon load and temperature about 1500 °C) without deformation. In order to improve this glass property, aluminium was coated into the raw quartz materials.
