Most survivorship care guidelines emphasize the potential role of primary care physicians and the need for comprehensive care, with a preference for patient-centered over disease-centered approaches. However, guidelines developed in high-income countries are not always suitable for LMIC, where a shortage of oncology workforce, deficient training in primary care, and low access to comprehensive centers frequently induce undertreatment and a lack of follow-up.

Methods: This clinical trial randomized patients in blocks, stratified by risk factor. Adult smokers or at-risk drinkers undergoing surgical or diagnostic procedures were recruited.
Objective: The treatment of patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) was modified in the last decade towards a more individualized approach according to the risk of recurrence (RR). We compared the outcomes of patients with low and intermediate RR (LRR and IRR) who received or did not receive radioiodine remnant ablation (RRA) after assessing the dynamic risk.
Methods: We included 307 DTC patients with LRR and IRR submitted to total thyroidectomy.
The coronavirus pandemic is a major public health crisis affecting global health systems with dire socioeconomic consequences, especially in vulnerable regions such as Latin America (LATAM). There is an urgent need for a vaccine to help control contagion, reduce mortality and alleviate social costs. In this study, we propose a rational multi-epitope candidate vaccine against SARS-CoV-2.
