Sucrose monopalmitate (SMP) is an effective surfactant for emulsification, but exhibits poor stability in low pH environments, due to neutralized surface charges. To improve SMP-based emulsions, we used food-grade amino acids as co-surfactants. Lysine, histidine, phenylalanine, and tryptophan lowered the water-oil interfacial tension.

This method revealed differential pathogen- and host-specific gene expression patterns in infected corneas, which generated a unified transcriptional map of infection. By integrating these data, we developed a predictive ridge regression model trained on images from infected tissues.

To date, only 12 cases of the metastasis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) to a meningioma have been reported in the literature. The authors present a unique case of TTM involving ccRCC metastasizing to a meningioma in a patient with a history of both primary cancers.

However, Staphylococcus aureus can survive these conditions, requiring neutrophils to deploy mechanisms that sense bacterial persistence. We find that staphylococcal lactate is a metabolic danger signal that triggers neutrophil extracellular trap release (NETosis).

Fungal agglutinin-like sequence (Als) proteins worsen DSS-induced colitis in mouse models. FADD and caspase-8 are important regulators of gut homeostasis and inflammation.
