Introduction: New dialysis membranes with new properties are being developed to improve efficacy and tolerance. The hemocompatibility of a polymeric biomaterial is influenced by the layer of water at the blood membrane interface. The new dialyzer TORAY NV-U has a membrane Hydrolink™, designed to suppress platelet adhesion and to improve the hemocompatibility.

Chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus (CKD-aP) is one of the most common and disabling comorbidities in patients with advanced CKD. In addition, it is associated with an increased risk of mortality, poorer quality of life, sleep disorders, mental health disorders, and increased use of health care resources. The clinical presentation of CKD-aP is very heterogeneous, making it difficult to diagnose and treat.

Observational studies assessing the implications of acute effects cannot distinguish acute effects from GFR changes unrelated to the treatment. Here, we performed meta-regression analysis of multiple trials to isolate acute effects to determine their long-term implications.

The aim of our study was to evaluate different serum and urinary markers of tubular damage in patients with lupus nephritis (LN) and to correlate them with kidney histopathology.
Methods: A single-center retrospective study was conducted from January 2016 to December 2021.
Background: Proteinuria is not only a biomarker of chronic kidney disease (CKD) but also a driver of CKD progression. The aim of this study was to evaluate serum and urinary tubular biomarkers in patients with biopsied proteinuric kidney disease and to correlate them with histology and kidney outcomes.
Methods: A single-center retrospective study was conducted on a cohort of 156 patients from January 2016 to December 2021.
