Objectives: To describe the frequency of preventive healthcare practice (assess, advice, refer for support) provided by allied health professionals (AHPs) practicing in regional and rural healthcare settings to address smoking, diet and physical inactivity. To identify factors that influence the delivery of preventive healthcare practice.

Methods: AHPs working in public healthcare services in the Loddon Mallee region of Victoria were surveyed.

Purpose: Fractures and dislocations of the pelvic ring are complex injuries that when treating require meticulous attention to detail and often specialized technical skill. These injuries can be the result of high-energy trauma, particularly in younger patients, or low energy trauma more often found in the elderly. Regardless of mechanism, these injuries lie on a spectrum of severity and can be treated conservatively or surgically.

Article Synopsis
  • Three-dimensional (3D) bio-printing is enhancing biomedical technologies, but making biomimetic tissues remains a challenge.
  • A new fluid-phase 3D printing method allows for better patterning of scaffolds by adjusting biological and mechanical properties to improve cell behavior and growth.
  • Experiments showed that using specific formulations (like lower gelatin with MES buffer) resulted in improved cell colonization, while the fluid-phase printing provided superior fidelity, leading to increased cell growth and better substrate colonization compared to traditional methods.

Article Synopsis
  • - Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) is the main type of liver cancer that results from issues with cell cycle regulation, with higher expression of Heat Shock Protein 90 (HSP90) and mitochondrial HSP90 (TRAP1) noted in patients.
  • - The review highlights the significance of HSP90 and TRAP1 inhibitors and their targeted delivery for potential early diagnosis and treatment of HCC.
  • - It emphasizes the role of protein-protein interactions involving HSP90 and TRAP1 in HCC pathways, while exploring systems and computational biology to study the effects of herbal plant molecules on these proteins.

Body packing is defined as the ingestion of drug packets, to conceal them during transportation. We report the case of a 63-year-old cocaine body packer, who died from an aortic dissection. He was arrested in Paris as he disembarked from a flight from Cayenne (French Guinea) and custom officers found cocaine in his suitcase.
