The COVID-19 global pandemic commenced widespread usage of face masks. Due to covering of the lower face in public settings, limited social interaction, and patient hesitancy for seeking in-person healthcare, dermatologic conditions of the lower face are prone to delayed diagnosis and management. With society recovering from the pandemic and social distancing restrictions being lifted, an increasing number of patients present with malignant skin conditions at advanced stage.

Several serotypes of botulinum toxin (BT) exist; however, only 2 types have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for commercial and medical use, A and B. Both types of BT must be administered intramuscularly with a syringe, but the type of syringe is the injector's preference.

The aim of this study was to further investigate whether oxidative stress could be involved in the early inflammatory process associated with CF pathogenesis. We used a model of CFTR defective epithelial cell line (IB3-1) and its reconstituted CFTR control (S9) cell line cultured in various ionic conditions.

Cystic fibrosis (CF), is the most common life-shortening autosomal recessive disorder in Caucasians. It is caused by mutations in a single gene on the long arm of chromosome 7 that encodes the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein. CF is characterized by abnormal Na+ and Cl- ion transport in several tissues, including the lungs, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract, liver, sweat glands, and male reproductive system.

Low grade gliomas (LGG) are infiltrative tumors and they constantly undergo malignant transformation. Metabolic exploration of human gliomas in vivo, in animals and by using cell culture models showed important differences between tumor tissues and normal brain tissues, which can provide new markers for diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic targets.
