Design, justification, and prototyping of the visible and infrared wide angle viewing system diagnostic for ITER equatorial port 12.

The ITER equatorial visible and infrared Wide Angle Viewing System (WAVS) will play a major role in the protection of plasma facing components by providing surface temperature measurements of these components. It will also image the plasma emission in the visible range. The WAVS is composed of 15 lines of sight located in four Equatorial Ports (EPs) 3, 9, 12, and 17.

Optimizing a biorefinery design for the valorization of Rugulopteryx okamurae by extracting bioactive compounds and enhancing methane production.

The Mediterranean Sea has suffered recently from the unprecedent invasion of the alien macroalga Rugulopteryx okamurae due to global warming and climate change putting at risk the natural local ecosystem. Since 2015 this alga has colonized a great area on the western coast of the Mediterranean Sea and it has been also spotted in other areas such as the Azores Islands or the south of France. The arrival of alga tides into the coasts also provokes collateral environmental problems that need to be addressed.

Identification of host endotypes using peripheral blood transcriptomics in a prospective cohort of patients with endocarditis.

Objectives: Host responses to infection are a major determinant of outcome. However, the existence of different response profiles in patients with endocarditis has not been addressed. Our objective was to apply transcriptomics to identify endotypes in patients with infective endocarditis.

Synthesis and Reactivity of Dipalladated Derivatives of Terephthalaldehyde.

The polynuclear complex [{μ-1,4,,″-CH{C(H)=N(Bu)}-2,5}{Pd(μ-OAc)}] () reacts with tbbpy (4,4'-di--butyl-2,2'-bipyridine) and TlOTf to form the dinuclear complex [{μ-1,4,,″-CH{C(H)=N(Bu)}-2,5}{Pd(tbbpy)}] (). The hydrolysis of with acetic acid in a 5:1 acetone/water mixture, in the presence of two equivalents of tbbpy and excess NaX (X = Br, I), yields the dipalladated terephthalaldehyde complexes [CH{PdX(tbbpy)}-1,4-(CHO)-2,5] [X = Br (), X = I ()], which are the first fully characterized complexes of this type. The reaction of with CO results in the insertion of CO into both aryl-Pd bonds, forming [CH{C(O){PdX(tbbpy)}}-1,4-(CHO)-2,5] [X = Br (), X = I ()], which are the first examples of complexes with CO inserted into two separate aryl-metal bonds involving the same ligand.

Selective Synthesis of Boron-Functionalized Indenes and Benzofulvenes by BCl-Promoted Cyclizations of -Alkynylstyrenes.

A selective, metal-free synthesis of boron-functionalized indenes and benzofulvenes via BCl-mediated cyclization of -alkynylstyrenes is described. The method allows precise control over product formation by adjusting reaction conditions. These borylated products were utilized in diverse C-B bond derivatizations and in the total synthesis of Sulindac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, demonstrating the versatility and practicality of the developed methodology for synthetic applications.
